Daffodils are the bravest of all flowers. They bloom early, when there’s still a chance of a late winter freeze or a heavy spring shower. They are bowed down by the rain and yet they stand up straight the next clear day. Their crisp yellow and orange petals sing to us, telling us a tale that never gets old and that we need reminded of annually: the darkness will pass and the sun will shine again. They are the first sign that winter is coming to a close, and as the days warm up and other flowers bloom, they wilt, because their job is done. Daffodils are hope in an ever changing world where only loss is a certainty. Daffodils are sunshine on earth, and their courage to bloom early sustains us all during the dark and cold weeks of winter.

Beautifully written and so true. I will
Never see daffodils without feeling it.
