Hello blog! I’m sorry I’ve neglected you lately! I’ve been itching to write a new post about our house but I didn’t want to do it until I had some pretty pictures to show you.
So yes, we bought a house! We have been renting the last 5 years since we got married, and not once have we taken the time to paint the walls. We’ve never planted anything outside or had a lawn to mow. We’ve moved 3 times in 4 years, and I’m so happy to think that it’ll be at least that long before we have to move again. We can settle in, finally make our living space our own. No more white walls and ratty carpet :). Our house is charming, and the moment I walked in I knew it was ours. Seriously, it was a gut reaction. We told our relator we wanted to make an offer that day and things progressed very quickly. There were multiple offers so we tried to make ours the best, and the seller agreed! I’m so glad the whole process is over.
Without further ado, I’ll show you the house. It has 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. It was built in 1964, possibly by one of our good friend’s relatives (crazy right?!).

We met our neighbor, whose yard you can see in the picture above. I’m trying to be open minded because it might actually be really fun living next door to them. They are self-proclaimed rednecks who bring the country to the city (in their own words). They like to ride Harley’s and cook deer in the backyard. They throw killer parties and just want to have a good time. Yikes.
Maybe they’ll be wonderful neighbors. I’m sure they’ll look out for us (surely they have guns), and who knows, maybe deer will become my new favorite meat!
Overall we are very excited to live there. We’ll move in about 2 weeks. My dad and his wife will be coming to help, and I’m so excited for them to see everything.
Thanks again for all the support! I’ll be sure to post more as we begin this adventure and see what homeownership really means 🙂
